History and Architecture of Kusum Sarovar
This place is associated with the playful moments spent together by Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. As the name suggests, Kusum Sarovar is a place surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. It is believed that Radha Rani would come here to meet Lord Krishna on the pretext of collecting flowers with her female friends or sakhis. Since time immemorial, devotees have been coming here to receive nectar of ‘Prem Bhakti’ for their beloved Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha.
This natural pond was restored in the year 1675 as instructed by Raja Veer Singh Deo of Orcha. In the mid 18th century, King Jawahar Singh of Bharatpur added a red sandstone complex or cenotaph to honor his father King Suraj Mal and his two wives.
The adjoining complex to the sarovar showcases beautiful Rajasthani architecture with intricate carvings and motifs.

The hill is considered to be the physical form of Lord Krishna and is revered by each and every Vaishnavite.
Radha Kund and Shyam Kund: Radha Kund and Shyam Kund are two of the most admired pilgrimages. As the name suggests, Radha Kund is dedicated to Goddess Radha. Devotees offer ‘parikrama’ around the kund to show their love and devotion to the ‘queen’ of Braj Bhoomi - Goddess Radha Rani. The distance of these holy ponds from Kusum sarovar is around 2 kms only.
