History of Mansi Ganga Tank

As per the legends, Nanda Baba and Yasoda, the foster parents of Lord Krishna wanted to take a holy dip in river Ganga. In order to fulfill his parent's wish, Lord Krishna meditated and brought river Ganga to Govardhan. “Mansi” refers to the ‘mind’ as it was created by the power of the mind.

The enclosures and steps of the tank were built by Raja Bhagwan Das of Amer in 1637 and it was beautified by Raja Man Singh.

Brajmandal Parikrama: As per the local belief, Brajmandal Parikrama would be incomplete without a dip in the Mansi Ganga Tank.
