Established on March 16th, 2014 at the Holi festival, the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir was first conceived by the devotees of ISKCON temple in Bangalore and its foundation stone was led by Pranab Mukherjee, who was the former president of India from 2012 to 2017. It is currently under construction and is expected to be complete and open to the public by 2024.

Architecture of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir

Featuring a traditional Nagara style architecture with modern design, the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is considered to be the world’s tallest religious monument that will stand about 700 feet high i.e., 213 meters in length.

It’s an awe-inspiring structure that will cover an area of 26 acres of land and will have 12 verdant forests surrounding the complex. All these forests will be filled with the trees of fruits and flowers, springs, and small artificial hills. Everything will be cultivated according to the description of the Krishna period of Braj Mandal. Other than that, these forests will also have musical fountains, lotus ponds, orchids, waterfalls, hillocks, and many more.

Another special attraction of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir will be a capsule elevator that will take visitors to the top from where you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Braj Mandal. There is also a watchtower with telescopes that will help you witness the beauty of the Vrindavan town.

  • The 12 forests around the temple structure will be named after the names of the 12 gardens of Braj Mandal – Mahavana, Vrindavana, Lohavana, Kamyavana, Kumudavana, Talavana, Bhandiravana, Madhuvana, Kumudavana, Bahulavana, Bilvavana, and Bhadravana.

There is no entry fee to visit Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir and it is open for its visitors from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the afternoon and from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the evening on all days i.e., from Monday to Sunday.
